Jenna was experiencing some contractions early Tuesday morning (9/1/09), so her and Lee went to the hospital only to be told it was not labor just yet and they gave Jenna an Ambien and told her to rest up, it may happen soon. So they went home and Jenna still was getting the contractions, just not regular, but sort of intense. She sleep and rested up and on Thursday they started to get more intense and more regular. By the afternoon, I talked to her on the phone and I knew it was time. She was in a lot of pain, but she was handling it so well. Finally, her and Lee went to the hospital around 5:00 pm and she was 4 cm dilated. She was checked about 2 hours later and she was at 7cm and then around 8:30 pm, she was fully dilated and ready to push! My Mom made it just in time and was able to watch the whole birth! Jenna is amazing! She didn't even get an epidural and we're so proud of her!!! What a trooper!
So my nephew is adorable!! He scored an 8/9 on his apgars and was just a perfect picture of health, even after passing meconium (didn't get into his lungs!).
He is nursing well and is growing fast! When he left the hospital he was 6 pounds 3 ounces and at his 1 week check up he was already 6 pounds 11 ounces!
Congratulations Jenna & Lee and welcome to world my beautiful nephew Leon! I love you so much already and can't wait to meet you!!!

everytime i see this baby i wanna cry with joy. he is just so perfect. i can't wait for you to meet him. God really blessed jenna and lee.
